FAQ

Q: What are the Covid protocols for LCCC this year?

A: We encourage all singer who attend LCCC to get their Covid vaccines. Testing will not be required unless you are experiencing symptoms. Please do take precautions in general and do not come to camp if you are feeling sick, even if you think it’s just allergies. We request that students mask if they are experiencing symptoms of cold or flu. Students may also attend camp via Zoom if they are too sick to attend in person.

Q: How much does LCCC cost?
A: Our 4-day intensive Camp is $250. Saturday review sessions starting in September will be $50/student. Individual sessions with one of our LCCC teachers are available, and can be arranged upon request.

Q; Do you offer scholarships?
A: We are committed to offering financial assistance to any student who wants to attend LCCC but cannot afford the tuition. Please contact us for options, which may include payment plans, and/or need-based scholarships. (lastchancechoircamp@gmail.com, subject: LCCC financial aid)

Q: What if I don't know what voice part to choose?
A: When you register for LCCC, select the voice part option that says, “I'm not sure yet!” and one of our teachers will contact you to help you decide which voice part is most appropriate.

Q: What will LCCC be like this year?
A: We are excited to see some of y’all in person this year! Camp will be intense and you will work hard to learn the music, but we will also take lots of breaks and give you time to process and listen throughout the day. We will adhere to our camp mission, which is to give lots of personal attention to our students to ensure that they each learn their music thoroughly and are well prepared for the audition process!

Our camp days will begin with all campers and teachers in one big room for warm ups, new song introductions, listening, diction/language instruction, and historical context. Then we will break up into sectionals, where your teachers will teach notes and offer practice strategies for each piece. We are excited to announce that we will have a live choir experience at the end of our camp, with a limited audience. More details on this to come. LCCC is developing additional opportunities for mock auditions.

Q: What do LCCC teachers expect of me, the student, during LCCC sessions?
A: LCCC teachers expect the following:

  1. Students should read the LCCC Practice Handbook before their first day of camp, and refer to it throughout their All State audition preparation.

  2. Students should come to their first day of camp with their voice part highlighted in all of their music.

  3. Students should be prepared to mark their music, take notes during sessions, and will be given the opportunity to record certain parts of sectional rehearsals to use as practice tools throughout the week.

  4. Students will be expected to evaluate their own progress, take responsibility for their own practice, and communicate their needs to their LCCC teachers.
